Wendell Pierce stars as Harris in NBC's new comedy "The Michael J. Fox Show." Pierce is best known for his portrayal of Det. Bunk Moreland on five critically acclaimed seasons of "The Wire." Actor, businessman and philanthropist, Pierce has worked extensively with legendary directors Woody Allen, Spike Lee, Brian De Palma, Barry Levinson, Sidney Lumet and Taylor Hackford.

In addition to his work on HBO's "The Wire" and "Treme," Pierce had regular roles on NBC's "The Weber Show," CBS's "Gregory Hines Show," "Maloney" and "The Brian Benben Show." He also guest stared on "Numb3rs," "Law & Order," "Third Watch," "New York Undercover" and "I'll Fly Away."

Pierce hosts the Peabody Award-winning radio program "Jazz at Lincoln Center," which features live recordings from Jazz at Lincoln Center's House of Swing. Previous hosts of JALC include Ed Bradley and Wynton Marsalis, with whom Pierce attended high school in New Orleans. Pierce is a three-time NAACP Image Award Nominee for Best Actor in a Television Drama for his work on "The Wire." In 2008 he won the Image Award for Best Actor in a Television Movie for HBO's "Life Support." Wendell has won five Los Angeles Emmy Awards for his narration of "Golden Days, Purple Knights: 50 Years of the Los Angeles Lakers."

Pierce received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Juilliard's School of Drama and currently shares his time between Los Angeles, New York and New Orleans.
